Hi, I’m Lydia.
I’m a birth and postpartum doula, licensed massage therapist, and founder of Warm Embrace Doula Care. My desire is to empower women to reclaim birth, and to serve families in the comfort and intimacy of their homes.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in communication in 2020. I completed my massage therapy schooling and was licensed in 2021. I acquired my doula education and skills in 2023.
My Story
I first learned about birth work when I was 17-years old. I came across a midwife’s memoir while doing research for a high school report. Stories and photos of women confidently giving birth undisturbed, in their homes, surrounded by love and support moved me deeply. I wanted to be a part of that world. Historically, women have always supported other women through birth and postpartum. In this modern world of medicalized birth, the beauty and value of this ancient wisdom is lost. I desire to help women reclaim it.
My Birth Philosophy
I believe in a Creator God who intentionally designed every human being with love and care. Women are solely and uniquely equipped with the ability to birth children. You as a mother are powerful, and capable of birthing your baby. My desire as your doula is to support you through an informed pregnancy, an empowered birth, and a nourished postpartum period. Pregnancy is not a disease to be feared. Birth is not a medical event. I welcome and respect clients from all backgrounds and beliefs.
Feel free to contact me if what I’ve said resonates with you.
