Postpartum Care
Even if you didn’t hire a doula for your birth, you can still have one for the postpartum. Postpartum care is a universal need. I offer postpartum care for $40 an hour and typically spend an hour or two at your home 2-3 times a week taking care of household chores, making warm nourishing meals, and caring for YOU.
1 hr twice a week - $80
1hr three times a week - $120
2 hrs twice a week - $160

FAQs
Frequently asked questions about my birth doula offerings.
Doulas offer comfort measures, such as massage, breathing techniques, and position changes, to help manage pain and promote a positive birth experience. Overall, home birth doulas play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, supported, and fulfilling journey for families welcoming their babies in the comfort of their own homes.
Do you attend hospital births?
I do not attend hospital births. Birth is not a medical event. It’s my unpopular belief that doulas can NOT actually prevent or protect you from mistreatment in hospitals. My goal is to support women and I honestly don’t think I could be a doula if I regularly went to the hospital and witnessed the violence against women and babies in that environment. Women know how to give birth, much of the time intervention is unnecessary and birth in the hospital carries greater risks for most mothers and babies. There are many other doulas in the area that I can recommend to support hospital births.
Will you transfer with me?
Yes I will transfer with you if medical assistance is needed. If you do choose to go to the hospital from a planned home birth it would be because you actually want or need something there.
What about breastfeeding support?
I provide basic breast-feeding support and talk with women about their plans in the prenatal time, as well as offer suggestions and referrals to additional support if desired.
